Blackpink is one of the biggest girl groups in the world. In August, they performed their hit single "Pink Venom" at the VMAs. Blackpink allows each member to be a solo star in their own right. Jennie commented, "We put in a lot of work to look like superwomen, but at the end of the day, we're just normal girls."Despite their normal personalities, the year 2022 has been far from ordinary for Blackpink.  The members of Blackpink were selected through an audition process by YG, one of the "Big Three" K-pop labels in South Korea.

Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé were selected through an audition process by YG, one of the "Big Three" Korean music labels. However, the music is not the only reason for Blackpink's massive visibility, according to Janick.  Jennie's solo project "Solo" was a bold hip-hop track that challenged expectations of what a female K-pop star should sound like. Rosé's 2021 singles "On the Ground" and "Gone" charted highly globally. Lisa, who represents the luxury brand Celine, has released two solo songs.

Jisoo made her acting debut in the drama Snowdrop. Blackpink is touring with more than 20 dates in cities from Berlin to Bangkok this winter alone. Jennie: "We try to be prepared in terms of our health and our mental health". The pandemic provided the group with an opportunity to rest and focus on solo projects, but it increased fans' desire to see them return to the stage.

Despite the pressure they face, Blackpink's focus is short-term and their No. 1 rule is not to look ahead, according to Jennie. Popularity in the music industry is a fast-paced game, and for Blackpink, the key to success is sticking together, allowing each other space to grow, and keeping people guessing about what's next. Their ambition may be limitless, but they also need to pace themselves. Jennie commented, "I just want everyone in one piece." When asked to describe themselves, Rosé simply stated, "Four rock stars," and the other members nodded and laughed in agreement.

Shazam is offering up to four months of free Apple Music to new subscribers. While Apple Music and Spotify both offer one-month free trials, there are other offers available for longer trials. Apple Music offers a free six-month subscription to those who buy new AirPods, Beats, or HomePod devices, and Best Buy offers up to six months for free with select Apple product purchases. The Shazam offer is available for both iPhone and Android, but only for new customers. The trial period may vary based on the device and region. After the trial is over, the subscription will automatically renew and users will be charged for an individual subscription. To redeem the offer, users can open the Shazam Apple Music website and scan a QR code with their phones to view the offer. The offer page will tell users the Apple Music trial period they are eligible for, and they can then tap on "Try It Free" to start the trial.

After Christmas, be prepared to register your SIM card.

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in the Philippines has reminded the public to register their SIM cards starting two days after Christmas, with the process being carried out online to protect privacy. The law governing SIM card registration does not set a limit on the number of cards one person can register, but owners should be mindful of any unauthorized use, said NTC consultant Edgardo Cabarios. SIM cards that get lost or stolen should be reported to the telco to be deactivated within 24 hours. The process is set to begin on 27 December.
